The Coddle and Cure Story
My name is Dr. Danielle McNeil. Originally from Brooklyn, NY now living in San Diego,CA. I am board certified Podiatrist, which means I treat all conditions affecting the foot and ankle.
The medical world has dramatically changed in a very short time. How we prefer to receive medical care is suddenly different. Telehealth and virtual visits are now the new norm. Doctors offices and hospitals may seem a bit scarier than ever before.
So while folks were staying home to stay safe during 2020, I was also home on maternity leave. During that time I was getting calls and texts from numerous family and friends with all sorts of medical questions- more so than pre-lockdown. The gap between patient and doctor seemed to widen. A lot of people I that I know no longer have a family doctors or a primary doctor for themselves, someone to call on for all of their health concerns big or small.
That can leave you feeling lost if a new health concern pops up. Where do you even start?
Our health care system doesn’t make it easy to find care. Even if you happen to have great health insurance that doesn’t guarantee you great medical care. Seems nuts doesn’t it?
Here at Coddle&Cure, I want to share all I have learned as a patient, caregiver, medical biller and physician. I will also share my top recommendations for managing the most common foot injuries and ailments, as that is quite literally my specialty. You will find simple reviews of anatomy, the best practices for healing and preventing injury, plus my favorite products. I also want to share tips on navigating our complicated healthcare system, which can sometimes be its own special kind of pain.
Coddle + Cure is a place to help you heal. Learn to become an active member on your own health care team. The better you understand our healthcare system, the less painful it will be. The more you understand about your own body, the better you can understand doctors orders and get the best results.
